Michelle Crosbie
Owner and Instructor
Michelle Crosbie has owned SSD since 2002 and has been teaching dance at Shannon’s since 1996. She became a student of Shannon Jackson when the Crosbie family moved to Evansville from Pittsburgh in 1985 and began training and teaching under her mentor by the age of 16. Miss Michelle has grown with the studio through decades and, today, has over 50 high school students in class who have stuck by her side, dancing under her instruction since their toddler years! She is an alumnus of Central High School and the University of Southern Indiana, where she earned her B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Studio Art. Dancing for her college squad, Michelle helped her team place nationally in competitions. Throughout her schooling, she took several opportunities to study art and culture abroad, including a semester at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. She is also founder of The SaSSquad, a popular dance troupe that performs for several local charities and events. With a deep love for dance as her greatest passion, she also delights in cooking and entertaining friends and family, creating beautiful home spaces through thoughtful design, and expressing her creativity through various crafts. Her artistic spirit shines through in everything she does—bringing warmth, joy, and inspiration to her students both on the dance floor and in the welcoming world she builds around her. Since purchasing Shannon’s School of Dance (SSD) in 2004, Michelle Crosbie has been a beloved instructor at the studio since 1996. Her journey began in 1985, when the Crosbie family relocated from Pittsburgh to Evansville and she became a student under founder Shannon Jackson. By age 16, Michelle was already training and teaching alongside her mentor, growing the studio through decades of dedication. Today, she proudly leads more than 50 high school students who have trained under her guidance since their toddler years—a testament to the lasting bonds she builds and the inspiration she provides. A proud alumna of Central High School and the University of Southern Indiana, Michelle earned her B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Studio Art. While in college, she danced competitively on the university squad, helping her team achieve national placements in competitions. Her passion for art and culture led her to study abroad, including a transformative semester at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. Michelle is also the founder of The SaSSquad, a dynamic all-girl dance troupe specializing in jazz, hip-hop, and sassy choreography. The group delights audiences at local charities, events, and community performances throughout Evansville. At her core, dance remains Michelle’s greatest passion, but her creativity extends far beyond the studio. She loves cooking and entertaining friends and family, designing inviting home spaces, and exploring various crafts. Her artistic spirit infuses everything she does—infusing warmth, joy, and inspiration into her students on the dance floor and in the welcoming world she creates around her.
“After so many years of teaching, I’ve watched my girls grow up right before my eyes—they’ve truly become like little sisters and daughters to me. I can’t help but pour love and care into each one of them. But what leaves me utterly astounded, time and again, is hearing them share—with tear-filled eyes on graduation day—just how deeply SSD has impacted their lives. Those moments are the most fulfilling reward I could ever imagine.”Contact Us

Alex Linberg
Instructor
Miss Alex is a dedicated, versatile teacher and choreographer at Shannon’s School of Dance. With years of experience sharing her passion for dance, she brings energy, expertise, and encouragement to every class she leads! Alex’s dance journey began early, as she served as the Tigerette Captain at Memorial High School (class of 2005). She continued her training and performance at Purdue University, where she earned her BS in Economics in 2009, while dancing with Higher Ground Dance Company and competing/performing as part of Dance 2XS International Hip Hop Team. After college, Alex returned to her roots in Evansville and has built a multifaceted life around family, service, and dance. She married her husband Paul in 2017—a 20-year USMC veteran—and the couple spent eight years on the East Coast. During that time, she danced with Wilmington Dance Cooperative and honed her skills in aerial silks through training at several circus arts studios. Now back in Evansville and thriving as a stay-at-home mom to four wonderful children—including two who are proud Shannon’s dancers—Alex is excited to be part of the SSD family once again! She’s an active PTO mom and member at St. Benedict Cathedral and School, where she loves volunteering. In her free time, she enjoys supporting veteran organizations, cooking delicious meals, diving into a good book, and staying centered with HOT yoga.
“I always loved teaching dance, but coming back to the studio as a dance MOM is even better. I love watching these young ladies learn and grow like they’re my own girls.”Contact Us

Kaylee Leathco
Instructor
Miss Kaylee has been part of the Shannon’s School of Dance family since she was just 3 years old—dancing through every class, recital, and special moment that shaped who she is today. A proud graduate of North High School (class of 2024), Kaylee was thrilled to be on the North dance team and in marching band, where she got to share her love for movement and performance with even more friends. Now, as a new instructor at Shannon’s, she is so excited to give back to the place that gave her so much confidence, joy, and lifelong friendships. Outside of dance, Kaylee is starting esthetics school in March 2026 and currently works at Fusion Spa to build her skills and experience in the beauty world. Her dream is to one day open her own solo esthetics studio, but right now, her heart is right here—helping our dancers discover their own spark, build technique, and feel that same magic she felt since toddler class. “Shannon’s has always been more than a studio; it’s home”, she says!
“I grew up at the studio and built so many meaningful relationships along the way. Now being one of the special people to the students and their parents means the world to me. These relationships truly last a lifetime.”Contact Us
